SyncMOF Featured on Chukyo TV’s Evening News Program “Catch!”

SyncMOF’s exhibit at the Healthcare Pavilion of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai was featured on the June 6th broadcast of Chukyo TV’s evening news program “Catch!”.

The highlight was the unveiling of the “Future Bench”, an innovative piece of urban furniture that embodies the theme: “CO₂ Becomes a Hero.”
This bench allows visitors to experience a new lifestyle in harmony with the planet by actively capturing CO₂ from the atmosphere using MOF (Metal-Organic Framework) technology.

Developed by SyncMOF, the CO₂-capturing MOF is embedded into resin using cutting-edge 3D printing technology by ExtraBold, and expertly finished by the craftsmen of Aigou Furniture. The design, inspired by plant leaves, was created by Associate Professor Tomoaki Kageyama of Nagoya City University, symbolizing coexistence with nature.

The seat is shaped like a pair of leaves, each containing blue MOF materials within its veins that quietly adsorb CO₂ near those who sit. The collected CO₂ is funneled into the central “Fruit of the Future”, representing a new kind of plant—one that converts CO₂ into energy.

This installation challenges the perception of CO₂ as mere “waste,” instead presenting it as a resource of the future. It’s a fun, beautiful, and hands-on way to learn about environmental solutions.

We invite you to visit Expo 2025 and experience the future by simply taking a seat.
