SyncMOF’s DAC Technology to be Showcased at the Osaka-Kansai Expo “Science with You and the Future”

— Showcasing Cutting-Edge Demonstration Technology to Convert CO₂ into Fuel —

SyncMOF will participate in the “Science Exhibition: Connecting Me and the Future” at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), as a member of the COI-NEXT Secure and Ubiquitous Resource and Energy Co-Creation Hub (commonly known as the Henkan Co-Creation Hub) at Tokai National Higher Education and Research System, Nagoya University.

With the slogan “From Consumption to Henkan”, the Hub aims to transform our society from a mass-consumption model reliant on fossil fuels to a “Henkan Society” where each citizen can create their own resources and energy.
To realize this vision, we are conducting demonstration experiments in Hakuba Village, Nagano Prefecture, using our proprietary MOF (Metal-Organic Framework) based DAC (Direct Air Capture) device to capture carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere and convert it into fuel (methane).

At Expo 2025, we will showcase a full-scale demonstration unit (trailer house) that generates methane from CO₂, allowing visitors to experience the entire process―from CO₂ capture to fuel production―firsthand.
We will also host a special science class, “Science Academy: Expo Edition”, themed on “The Properties and Utilization of CO₂”, to share the possibilities of next-generation energy creation and cutting-edge science and technology.

In addition, the following special events are planned during the exhibition:
• August 17: Lecture by Mr. Toshiro Maruyama, Mayor of Hakuba Village
• August 18: Dialogue Session with Dr. Naoshi Sugiyama, President of Nagoya University; Dr. Akihiro Saso, Executive Vice President; and Dr. Ryotaro Matsuda, Hub Director
